If you think you're born into mediocrity, and being 'special' is someone else's god-given priviledge, think again:

So How did the Rally go?

And so, I had my opportunity to speak as Emcee for the Team Rich monthly rally last night.

How did it go, you ask?

Well, here's an email my mentor Eng Hai sent out to the rest of us after the rally last night:

Dear All,

Can you imagine sitting back, listening to a line-up 9 speakers, all of whom you know well, and being amazed and thrilled at seeing how everyone is so good, so very good, speaking like they have never spoken before, being at their best ever?

I think it's difficult to imagine if you were not there. But that's exactly my amazing experience last night, at the Team Rich Rally at The Pines.

We had chosen to present this monthly event differently from the past, to give it fresh appeal. We lined up a panel of speakers to speak on "How to make $500-5,000 a month part-time in 6-12 months". The fresh twist works. The room was full, all the seats were filled!

By the time I spoke on the great products that underpin our business, just before Nancy Long stood up at the end to do the wrap-up, we had the chance to listen to 9 others. They were emcees Kelly Lim and Julia Foo and rally speakers Albert Tan, Lola, Rachel Tan, Samuel Koh, Helen Lim and SP Tan and Patrick See. Everyone, and I do mean everyone - without any flattery or exaggeration, was at peak performance. Wow!

When I stood up to speak, I couldn't help remarking with pleasure about that - all the speakers performing at their best ever.

Kelly and Julia, as co-emcees, deserve special mention. They were a class act! The two looked like they've been emceeing together a thousand times before, but last night was really their first combined show! That says a lot for preparing well. They went an hour early to talk through the night's programme in great detail. Their fantastic performance also spoke volumes about doing whatever we're doing with all our heart. Bravo, Kelly, Julia!!!!!

Hmmmm ... how would you like to do the right thing at the right time in the right place with The Right People.

The right thing? Network Marketing with Unicity.
The right time? Now.
The right place? Singapore/Malaysia/Southeast Asia.
The right people????? Team Rich.

Team Rich is destined for greatness on a global scale in the seamless global world of network marketing.

Watch us go! .... No. You can do better than that ... Don't just watch us go; come along with us!

eh.

Like Eng Hai mentioned, it went pretty well :) I had alot of fun hosting together with Julia, who was incidentally a superb co-host! The audience were laughing and having lots of fun, and so were we.

Here's a special thanks to those of you who made it to the rally to support me: Thank You!
Emceeing is rather fun, when you get past all the initial nervousness; then as you warm into the role, you find that rather than becoming just a facilitator to the event, you're having a conversation with the audience. Can you imagine how much fun that is? :)

Try it some day.

Kelly Emcees for Team Rich's Grand Event!

It has been confirmed: as per my post on speaking arrangements, I have been requested to emcee for the upcoming Team Rich Once-a-month grand scale rally this Thursday evening! :)

There will be some subtle differences in this month's rally; rather than our usual segments by our speaker-trainers, there will be more live, candid sharing by actual members of the team who has indeed made life better for themselves with more money, and more physical health to enjoy their newfound wealth.

Also, the rally this month will be dubbed "How to make $500 - $5000 a month Working from Home", with its obvious focus on showing people how to do just that. Team Rich's top leader and founder, Nancy Long, is a big advocate on helping people create a boost in financial sustenance, especially in poor economic times today.

Co-hosting the event with me is Julia Foo, a bright & cheery lady, and a fellow associate from Team Rich. She is a very likeable personality and will no doubt be a big hit with the audience, so I'm excited to share the stage with her :)

I'm excited to host this event, and if you'd like to come (and give me your support, maybe? ;) ) , you're welcomed to call me at (65) 9109 2010, or email me. Its $5 per person, and I'll be more than happy to have you with me :)

How to make $500 - $5000 a Month Working from Home
Date: 20 October 2005, Thursday
Venue: The Pines Country Club, Singapore
Time: 7.30pm

Know Where you are Going

It is so important to know where we are going.

I was making my way, just the other day, to the hospital where my girlfriend's little brother was getting his periodic cheemotherapy, when I noticed a young mother bringing her 3 year old daughter around the underground train station.

I assumed the mother was bringing her young daughter out for a little excursion, and I thought "Aww.. what a cute scene!" Yet from the looks of it, things weren't going as planned. There were a couple of signs pointing to at least 3 different places at the underpass leading to the train station, and the mother was pacing from sign to sign, staring blankly at each of them, obviously lost.

This went on for at least another 5 minutes. And her 3 year old daughter was there, scratching her head, looking equally lost, and utterly bored at waiting.

And I thought to myself, gosh, I'll bet many of us has been in that situation before.

We've all had the chance to be a leader at least once in our life, whether if its a big-scale business project that we've been placed in charge of, or something as simple as showing someone the way around the shopping mall. So its important to know where we're going, not just for ourselves, but also for the benefit of the people we're leading.

And sometimes, as leaders, we, too, can get lost along the way. Just like the mother at the train station. A couple of times, I noticed that she started to walk off in one direction, hesitate, then turned back to the signs to be REALLY sure, start off in another direction, hesitate again, and go back to the signs again. I'll bet if her 3 year old "follower" could speak, she'd be going "Just pick a direction and get going already!"

My mentor in networking, Eng Hai would tell me time and again "don't analyze till you paralyze". Just learn and do, and if you make a mistake, just learn from it and do it again. Getting into action sure beats staying put at the same spot! And if you're a leader, getting in action is far more motivating for your team, than sitting around and waiting for you to decide on the next step.

When I left the subway, the mother was still pondering which way to go. I hoped she made a decision in the end. Sure, she could have head off the wrong direction, but how difficult is it to learn from it, and turn back anyway? Perhaps her 3 year old daughter might even enjoy herself looking at things while walking back and forth the bustling streets! :)
