Here's another parable that Bock Seng shared with me not over coffee, but over wine at Denise (the wineshop, not the girl).

There were once 3 men who were all going after the same beautiful woman. Now, the 3 men were all dashing, drop dead gorgeous and charismatic. They were all rich, successful, influential and all in the position to give any lady they chose a very good life indeed.

So these 3 drop dead gorgeous men raced against one another to romance the same lady. And for a long time, the lady had a hard time choosing who she wanted to be with. Indeed, it was a very close match between the 3!

However, the rivalry came to an abrupt halt when all 3 men, with no warning at all, recieved an invitation to the lady's wedding! They were all devastated and decided to check out her new suitor who apparently bettered all 3 of them.

They were appalled to discover that the lady's would-be husband was not only ugly, but his career was mediocre at best. They were insulted and demanded an explanation from the lady.

"What's wrong with either one of us? We spend so much time and effort in chasing after you, and you chose over us someone that came along who is definitely inferior to any of us!"

"Well," the lady began, "it is true that you are all more handsome than my husband, and definitely more richer than him."

"However, all you ever did was to woo me. HE ASKED ME FOR MY HAND IN MARRIAGE!"

HAHAHAHA!

Moral of the story: Always ASK if you want something!
