Along the way, Winter came...
Here's some unexpected attention: just the other day, Team Rich's top leader, Nancy Long, casually mentioned to David Card about my seven new member sign-ups in two weeks, which was a record high for me. The Regional VP looked impressed, and said that he ought to have a write-up done about me.
For a moment, I didn't have the heart to tell him that I have been prospecting countlessly without any new sign ups for the last one and a half weeks!
Yet reknown business philosopher Jim Rohn had this to say: "After Spring, comes Summer; and after Summer, comes Autumn; and after Autumn comes Winter. But after Winter, comes Spring. Not to think so, see, is naive."
Our progress in life is cyclical, just like the seasons. There'll be a time for sowing the seeds of success (Spring), and then the time for nurturing the seedlings(Summer), and there'll be a time to reap the harvest (Autumn), and finally there'll be a time to count our blessings of bountiful harvest (Winter).
And that's the way things work in this world. All we need to do is to keep to our little disciplines: Labor in spring, and Reap the fruits in Winter. If you start playing in Spring, before long, Winter comes, and you'll be caught with nothing to sustain yourself, just like in the story of the Grasshopper and the Ant :) (In some versions of the story, I am told, the starving grasshopper became food for the ants!)
I experienced a good success with my 7-sign-ups because I was reaping what I labored for, so if I do get featured in a company-wide write-up, I certainly deserve it. I only seem to experience a drop in results lately because its a new spring - the time to labor and sow more seeds of success, so that I can once more lavish in success when Winter comes again! :)
If you ever find yourself in a rut or a stand-still, think again: are you really just experiencing a change in seasons?
